JERSEY CITY, N.J. –- John Cook of Geo. H. Green Oil Inc., Fairburn, Ga., has been elected as chairman of the National Association of Shell Marketers (NASM) for 2013. The election took place in December.

Scott Paulson, Silco Oil Co., Denver, Colo., is the outgoing NASM Chairman. After serving on the board since 2004, his term ended Dec. 31, 2012.

Other members of NASM’s 2013 Board include:

  • 1st vice chairman: Dave Milligan, CarterEnergy Corp., Overland Park, Kan.
  • Treasurer: Eddie Martin, Coulson Oil Co., Inc., North Little Rock, Ark.
  • Corporate secretary: Joe Balestreri, Southern Counties Oil Co., Orange, Calif.

Cheerwine

Dan Martin, former group director of field sales at PepsiCo Inc., recently joined Cheerwine as vice president of sales/liberator foodservice. He will be responsible for sales and distribution with the goal of expanding Cheerwine's brand presence across all foodservice channels. He will alsolead the brand on its mission to be available in all 50 states by its 100th anniversary in 2017.

Chute Gerdeman

Chute Gerdeman welcomed three new team members and announced new roles for three associates.

Rob Gallo joined Chute Gerdeman as vice president of business strategy and intelligence; Jay Highland assumes the new position of vice president, client creative partner, with specific responsibility for key client relationships; and Bonnie Kyle has been hired as construction manager.

Maria Rosmarin is now design development designer; Matt Jeffries has been promoted to Design Director for Chute Gerdeman's brand communications service offer; and Steve Williams has been promoted to program manager.

CROSSMARK

CROSSMARK appointed Joe Crafton as its CEO. He previously served as company president.

John Thompson, CROSSMARK’s CEO since 2010, now will focus primarily on acquisitions and strategic alliances as the company's chief strategy officer. Thompson remains a shareholder, serves on the board of directors for CROSSMARK, and will continue to be responsible for overseeing the company’s international businesses.

Ben Fischer maintains his role as chief operating officer and has assumed the additional title of president as well as other responsibilities.

The moves, which were effective Jan. 7, come after the recent majority investment in CROSSMARK by an affiliate of Warburg Pincus. Thompson said the investment brings a renewed focus on growth.

Matrix Capital Markets Group

David Keys joined Matrix as vice president. He brings nearly a decade of middle-market merger and acquisition and principal investing expertise working with business and government services, IT, and healthcare services companies.

Also, Cedric Fortemps has been promoted to the position of director.

ON GO Energy

Ben Benjamin joined ON GO Energy as director of sales. In this position, Benjamin will create greater brand recognition, deeper market penetration locally and nationally, and meet with distributors and retailers.

Snyder’s-Lance, Inc.

David V. Singer, CEO of Snyder’s-Lance, will retire following the company's annual meeting of stockholders on May 3. He has served as a director of the Company since 2003 and as CEO since 2005.

The company's Board of Directors also named Carl E. Lee, Jr., who has served as president and chief operating officer since December 2010, to succeed Singer as CEO. Lee served as CEO of Snyder's of Hanover, Inc. from 2005 until 2010. Singer will serve in an advisory capacity in support of the leadership transition through February 2014.
