JERSEY CITY, N.J. -- Matrix Capital Markets Group Inc., based in Richmond, Va., announced several personnel changes in its Energy and Multi-Site Retail (EMR) Group.

Vance Saunders, CPA, was promoted to the position of senior associate. Saunders is responsible for financial, industry and buyer research, creating valuation and financing models, and preparing selling and private placement memoranda. In addition, Saunders is responsible for transaction execution and client advisory. 

Sean P. Dooley, senior analyst, completed his Level 1 Chartered Financial Analyst examinations in June and is currently a Level 2 candidate. Dooley received a BS/BA with a concentration in finance from East Carolina University and is currently a candidate member of the American Society of Appraisers. 

Stephen C. Lynch, CPA, has joined the firm as a senior analyst.  He will be responsible for financial, industry and buyer research, creating valuation and financing models, and preparing selling and private placement memoranda. Lynch is a May 2009 graduate of Virginia Polytechnic Institute with both a Bachelor of Science in finance and a Bachelor of Science in accounting and information systems. Prior to joining Matrix, Lynch was an audit senior with Deloitte & Touche LLP. 

Matt Murphy Jr., CFA, left the firm effective July 22 to join the Fixed Income Department at Eaton Vance Investment Managers as a vice president – global products specialist in their Boston, Mass., headquarters.

Matrix's Energy and Multi-Site Retail Group provides transactional advisory services to companies in the downstream energy and multi-site retail sectors, including convenience store chains, petroleum marketers, fuels distributors, retail propane distributors, heating oil distributors, lubes retailers and distributors, terminal operators, fuels transportation companies, hospitality companies and other specialty retail chains.

b2b Solutions Steve Montgomery, president of b2b Solutions, announced the addition of Marsha Mathis to the company as a consulting partner.  b2b Solutions is a Chicago-based consultancy that specializes in working with suppliers and retailers in the convenience store/petroleum marketing industry. 

Mathis has more than 30 years of experience as a senior-level executive in sales, marketing and product development for B-to-B companies ranging from startups to Fortune 100 companies. She has a strong background and expertise in software product marketing, product management and sales in the retail technology industry.

Mathis has developed sales infrastructures to successfully support and mobilize sales teams in channel, direct and Internet sales, including the development of sales agreements and compensation plans. In creating sales processes and procedures, she has developed tools for return-on-investment analysis, webinar content, sales presentations and sales tools for effective and consistent branding and product communications, b2b Solutions stated.  

Montgomery also announced the addition of Eric Hammer as a consulting partner. Hammer has more than 23 years of industry experience including environmental, installation/maintenance, retail operations and product procurement.   

As an energy procurement consultant, he set procurement strategies based on clients' risk profile, introduced customers to biofuel blending, shipped product on pipelines, provided analysis for fleet loyalty programs and created emergency action plans for natural disasters. according to b2b Soluitions.

Hammer also served as Topco Associates' director of fuel programs where he focused on creating positive profit and loss impact by implementing procurement strategies, aggregating purchases, shipping and blending of fuel products.  In addition, as former manager of division fuel operations for the Dominick's division of Safeway, Hammer worked with the real estate, construction, human resources and information technology groups to build a retail fuel department, and created grand opening/marketing programs to help ensure customer loyalty at the fueling stop, as well as the main store location.
