PCATS 2009 Conference to be Held in Orlando

ALEXANDRIA, Va. -- The Florida Hotel and Conference Center in Orlando will play host to the Petroleum Convenience Alliance for Technology Standards (PCATS) 2009 Annual Conference.

"We are excited about the expanded program we will have this coming year. In the past, we have concentrated on doing standards work and committee meetings. In 2009, we will have a business track in addition to the standards track," Jenny Bullard, chief information officer of Flash Foods and chair of PCATS, said in a statement.

"We have designed the business track specifically with retailer attendees in mind. There will be two days of ‘deep dive’ seminars covering such subjects as PCI Compliance Planning, Making the Business Case, and Bare Bones Project Management," she added.

John Hervey, executive director of PCATS, explained all retailers and suppliers regardless of membership status in PCATS are encouraged to attend the conference, which is specifically designed to improve business processes, reduce costs and increase productivity in the convenience and petroleum retail sector.

"Standards track will focus on developments in the areas of device integration, electronic business-to-business, point-of-sale, back office and retail financial transactions," Hervey said in a statement.
