NORFOLK, Va. -- Outsite Networks Inc. introduced AllPoints Rewards yesterday, a mobile application (app) the company said is the convenience store industry's "equivalent to Urbanspoon and Flixster."
AllPoints, which will debut at next month's NACS Show, allows consumers to access mobile deals, find businesses and attractions, and earn rewards for visiting and shopping. The app provides targeted deals based on a consumer's location, which the app knows thanks to the cellular phone's GPS.
On the retailer side, store owners can promote their locations, private label products, fuel brands, foodservice items and other specialties. They can also present deals, promotions and rewards based on schedules, by store, time of day or day of the week.
Manufacturers can get into the act, too, as the app gives them the ability to target consumers based on purchasing history and basket content. Manufacturers can then provide product clubs, random rewards, check-in-based rewards, cross promotions and upsell promotions.
In addition to having access to sales and rewards clubs, consumers can share the promotions they receive with others via Twitter, Facebook or by sending an e-mail.
AllPoints can also be used to gain access to Yelp information, Google Places and Google Offers, according to Outsite Networks.
