New Paytronix App Lets Customers Select Their Own Rewards

    Points redeemable on sweepstakes entries.

NEWTON, Mass. — Paytronix Systems Inc. is giving its convenience store program members the ability to choose rewards for themselves.

Dubbed "Reward Yourself," the new mobile app feature enables customers to browse a catalog of rewards and allows them to decide how they want to bank and redeem their program points.

C-stores that offer a points-based program that rewards members with points for each dollar spent can link their branded Paytronix mobile app back to an online catalog where members can shop for redemption on rewards like sweepstakes entries for gas cards or tickets, or a free hot beverage or snack.

"Paytronix has been working with restaurants for years on their bankable point programs and now we are delighted to bring this expertise to c-stores," said Joel Udwin, mobile product manager, Paytronix. "A branded Paytronix app with our 'Reward Yourself' capability is a terrific way for c-stores to engage customers in their bankable point programs."

Brands can also leverage the Reward Yourself structure to partner with consumer packaged goods vendors on new product promotions, according to the company. An example cited is dropping the number of points required to redeem a new candy bar from 1,000 to 100 to entice customers to sample the new product.

"The 'Reward Yourself' capability helps Forward Corp. create an aspirational and versatile program that gives members visibility into multiple reward options," said Emily Mallory, chief marketing officer at Forward Corp. "It gives our customers more autonomy by allowing them to decide which reward they will be banking their points for. The ability to spend/save points for larger reward options has been a huge improvement to the overall program."

As CSNews Online previously reported, Forward Corp., operator of Forward Convenience Stores throughout Michigan, switched its loyalty program to the Paytronix platform in October. Forward Rewards is a points-based program.

Newton-based Paytronix Systems Inc. offers a proprietary guest engagement platform that helps more than 300 retail and restaurant chains manage and grow more than $18 billion in guest spend.
