SAN ANTONIO — Some members of CST Brands Inc.'s senior leadership team are leaving the company following its acquisition by Laval, Quebec-based Alimentation Couche-Tard Inc. Inc.
"Today I say goodbye to the great CST team members that make CST strong," wrote Kim Lubel, CST's chairman of the board, president and CEO, on her Twitter account. "How lucky I am to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard!"
Lubel joined CST in January 2013 after its spinoff from Valero Energy Corp., where she served as Executive Vice President and General Counsel. She was elected Chairman of the Board of Directors of CrossAmerica GP LLC, the general partner of CrossAmerica Partners LP, in October 2016.
In 2014, Lubel (then known as Kim Bowers) was selected as the inaugural winner of the Convenience Store News Retailer Executive of the Year award to honor her exemplification of leadership, business acumen, dedication to the industry and commitment to community service.
Hal Adams, president, retail operations, will also depart CST post-acquisition.
"Today I say farewell to the Corner Store Team," Adams wrote on his Twitter account. "My heart is filled with gratitude and pride to have served with you — YOU ARE THE BRAND!"
Adams took up his most recent role in January 2016 when the position was created. The role combined oversight of marketing and merchandising with operations, including retail fuel pricing, branding, and communications in the U.S. and Canada. Adams' career includes more than 30 years of retail experience after he started out as a store associate in a Stop N Go store in Ventura, Calif.
He previously served vice president of retail merchandising at Valero from January 2001 until he became senior vice president, chief marketing officer of CST Brands in January 2013.
