PHILADELPHIA — Wawa Inc. will continue to show its red, white and blue as title sponsor of the Wawa Welcome America! festival.
The convenience retailer has renewed its sponsorship deal with the July 4th festival for another two years, according to the Philadelphia Business Journal. The pact runs through 2019, marking the 10th year of the retailer's title sponsorship of the free Philadelphia.
"We are delighted to extend our commitment as title sponsor of Welcome America for two more years, as this has been one of our most meaningful partnerships to date," Chris Gheysens, Wawa president and CEO, said in a statement.
The 2017 Wawa Welcome America festival will run six days, June 29 through July 4. It features free events, including concerts, outdoor movie screenings, museum days and fireworks displays.
This year marks the 25th anniversary for the summer festival. It also marks the 25th anniversary of its kick-off event Wawa Hoagie Day, according to the news outlet.
Pennsylvania-based Wawa operates more than 750 convenience stores in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland, Delaware, Virginia and Florida.
