CLAY, N.Y. – Stewart's Shops has yet to schedule an opening date for its first store in the Syracuse, N.Y., area, but is aiming to be up and running by the end of 2014, according to a Syracuse.com report. The planned site is located at the intersection of Morgan Road and Buckley Road in the town of Clay.
Upon opening, the store will offer a walk-in beer cave, which is a first for Stewart's, along with groceries, fresh prepared food, Stewart's ice cream and other products.
The Saratoga Springs, N.Y.-based retailer is planning to open a store in Utica, N.Y., as well, but has reportedly faced some local opposition to the choice of site.
Stewart's Shops has no current plans for additional stories in the Syracuse area, according to company spokeswoman Maria D'Amelia.
