SPRINGDALE, Ark. – This year’s Convenience Store News Foodservice Summit was “all about the consumer,” according to Don Longo, CSNews’ editorial director and moderator of the annual gathering of best-in-class convenience store foodservice executives.
Sponsored by Tyson Foods Inc., the CSNews 2014 Foodservice Summit once again provided an opportunity for c-store operators from all over the country to share ideas and learn from one another in an interactive and intimate setting at the state-of-the-art Tyson Discovery Center in northwest Arkansas.
Attendees included representatives from such prominent convenience chains as 7-Eleven Inc., Speedway LLC, The Pantry Inc., Wawa Inc., RaceTrac Petroleum Inc., Holiday Stationstores, Kwik Trip Inc. GPM Investments LLC, Maverik Inc., Thorntons Inc., Country Fair and Rutter’s Farm Stores.
During the day-and-a-half event, held in March, attendees participated in a special online forum with convenience store prepared food consumers; heard new consumer research on how shoppers choose where to buy prepared food; and discussed successes and best practices, as well as challenges they face in growing their foodservice business. A live consumer focus group once again served as a highlight.
