Town Pump Inc. to License Six Travel Centers with Pilot

BUTTE, Mont. -- Montana-based Town Pump Inc. entered into a license agreement with Knoxville, Tenn.-based Pilot Travel Centers LLC, signaling the intent to rebrand six Town Pump Travel Centers in Montana as Pilot Travel Centers.

Adding these six Town Pump locations will increase the Pilot network to 270 locations in 40 states and will give it needed coverage in Montana. The six locations will still be owned, operated and managed by Town Pump, but will display both Town Pump and Pilot signage. Pilot's customers will be able to enjoy all of the benefits of the Pilot network at any of these six Town Pump Travel Centers. The fuel offerings at these locations will remain Exxon or Conoco.

"Partnering with Town Pump brings Pilot into Montana for the first time, with locations on all Montana interstates and major highway/interstate intersections," said Jimmy Haslam, president and CEO of Pilot Travel Centers LLC. "It's especially great news for our thousands of fleet customers, who will have the convenience of using their Pilot fleet cards at these high-volume interstate locations."

Haslam also cited Town Pump's large, well-lit parking areas as an advantage for the sites, as well as such popular amenities as professional drivers' lounge areas, restaurants and attractive, well-stocked convenience stores.

"We are very pleased to join in partnership with Pilot as a means to meet our trucking customers' needs," said Jim Kenneally, supply and distribution manager for Town Pump. "Our fleet customers are familiar with Pilot and in fact requested that we explore the possibility of a partnership. Pilot understands the needs of the fleet trucking customer and offers several ways for customers to save money through their electronic rewards program, the Driver Payback loyalty program, faster transaction times with on-island card readers, lower processing fees and lower fuel prices due to increased buying power."
