Nielsen to Debut Retailer Scorecard at Store Brands Summit

CHICAGO -- Nielsen’s Todd Hale will debut the new Store Brands Retail Scorecard and answer how best-in-class retailers are winning in today’s competitive marketplace at the fourth annual Store Brands Decisions Innovation & Marketing Summit, taking place Feb. 26-28 at the Hyatt Regency O’Hare Hotel.

In his session developed exclusively for the Summit, the senior vice president of consumer and shopper insights for Nielsen will demonstrate how store brands leaders are achieving marketplace success using the new scorecard tool.

The session titled "Are You a Best-of-Breed Store Brands Retailer?" will review the scorecard, which examines category successes, alignment with consumer/shopper trends, innovation efforts, level and quality of marketing and promotion support, pricing expertise, in-store experience, supply sourcing, and analytic expertise, to see how the best of breed are winning today.

"We think this one session alone makes attendance to the 2014 Innovation & Marketing Summit a worthwhile investment of time for retailers," said John Failla, founder and editorial director of Store Brands Decisions, a sister publication of Convenience Store News. "For the first time ever, retailers will get insights on the key factors to store brands retailing success."

Hale was appointed to his position at Nielsen in 1999 and is responsible for creating thought leadership content and delivering client and industry presentations. A frequently sought-after speaker, Hale shares his insights on consumer shopping, buying and media consumption behaviors and attitudes to provide manufacturers and retailers with strategic visions to facilitate brand, category and retail sales growth.

Hale has more than 34 years of experience in the consumer research industry, including 28 years with Nielsen where he has held various marketing and sales management positions within advertising/product testing, advanced analytics and consumer panel practice areas.

"We’re excited about Todd’s presentation as it represents another industry first for cutting-edge content presented at the Store Brands Decisions Innovation & Marketing Summit," Failla said.

Attendees can use #IMS2014 to connect with peers before, during and after the Summit via Twitter.
