Nice N Easy Celebrates Employee Milestones

CANASTOTA, N.Y. -- Nice N Easy Grocery Shoppes honored 48 employees celebrating their five-, 10-, 15-, 20- and 30-year anniversaries with the convenience store chain. Combined, the honorees provided 345 years of service to the company.

Nice N Easy President and CEO John MacDougall personally congratulated each employee during the retailer's Service Awards Banquet, which recently took place at The Rusty Rail restaurant here.

Jeffrey Ginn, Nice N Easy's director of human resources, emceed the event and further recognized the employees by reminding the audience of historical events that took place during their year of hire.

Among the honorees was Melissa Tupper, assistant manager at the chain's Star Lake Shoppe, who reached 10 years at the company. For years, she would drive a four-wheeler several miles to and from work each day.

Jared Sturtevant, director of marketing, was honored for 15 years at Nice N Easy. "Jared was exceptional in every level of the jobs he held over the years," said MacDougall. "He is committed and takes on any challenge and succeeds."

Reaching a 20-year milestone at Nice N Easy was Ione Hewitt, manager of the Phoenix, N.Y., store. "She is a shining light at Nice N Easy Grocery Shoppes," MacDougall said.

Nice N Easy has been in business for 31 years. Employed at the company for 30 of those is Sally Johnson. Known for her hard work and fun attitude, Johnson was first employed at the initial Nice N Easy store in Clinton, N.Y. Nice N Easy now operates 80 locations, all in upstate New York.
