Nice N Easy Celebrates 25th Anniversary

CANASTOTA, N.Y. -- Nice N Easy Grocery Shoppes made more than 17,000 new friends this month when the Canastota, N.Y.-based convenience store chain hosted a two-day anniversary celebration that included live music, food, games and, of course, the opportunity to win $25,000.

“Our 25th Nice N Easy anniversary celebration was a total success at the New York State Fairgrounds,” said president John MacDougall. “I have many proud moments as the president of this great organization, and this great event has to be one of my proudest ever. Everything about the celebration was first-class in every way.”

Nice N Easy timed its event to coincide with two of the New York region's top musical events -- Bjam and the Y94FM Disco Reunion -- to deliver a huge event designed to reflect Nice N Easy's customer-friendly approach to business. Nice N Easy suppliers and sponsors also had booths on site, allowing the more than 17,000 attendees to sample their products.

“Every comment I heard was very positive and complimentary, which really should make all of us feel good about what we accomplished,” MacDougall said. “Our customers, our vendors and many of our employees had a good time together celebrating our success.”

The entertainment included performances by KC & The Sunshine Band and Diamond Rio, among other musical acts. And customer Fred Rogusz of Syracuse, N.Y., walked away with a check for $25,000.

In classic MacDougall fashion, the company president thanked the employees for making the event the success that it was, particularly projects manager Ann Ammann, who led the planning for the celebration. “She did a super job, and I am very thankful to her and for her,” he said. “Our vendors, who have believed in us for 25 years and have been great partners in our success, I thank you. Without you, it would not have happened. And to all of our employees and franchisees, you are the driving force behind the success on Nice N Easy.”
