CHICAGO -- Touching Notre Dame's "Play Like a Champion Today" sign or the University of Michigan's "Go Blue" banner could become a reality for one lucky college football fan. MillerCoors, a joint venture of SABMiller plc and Molson Coors Brewing Co., is teaming up with television network Fox Sports Net (FSN) to send one lucky college football fan and three friends to a regular season game of his or her choice this season.
The grand-prize winner, who must be of legal drinking age, will get more than just free roundtrip airfare and hotel accommodations. Additional benefits such as locker room access, a meeting with coaches, field passes and more will be identified by FSN and the teams playing in the game as part of the "Dream Game" promotion.
To enter the Coors Light/FSN contest, consumers now through Sept. 30 can either text codes found on specially marked packages of Coors Light or Coors Banquet beers, or visit www.coorslight.com. In addition to the grand-prize package, other winners will receive travel packs, high-definition televisions to watch their favorite team and more. Retail point-of-sale displays, promotional packaging and radio advertising will be used to support the contest.
"During football season, every weekend is a Coors Light occasion -- a reason to celebrate and get together with friends," said Dan Hennessy, senior director of marketing for the Coors family of brands. "We always want to enhance those experiences, whether it's through our dedication to providing legal-drinking age consumers with the world's most refreshing beer, or taking it one step further and getting them closer to the game than they've ever been."
In addition to the Dream Game promotion, Coors Light and FSN will partner to launch a "Text and Score" postseason contest. Beginning in November, the program will send one grand-prize winner and three friends to one of three college bowl games. The winner will also receive insider access as part of that prize package.
