MPSI, a provider of fuels pricing and site evaluation solutions, launched a version of its online PriceIt! Pro fuels pricing system accessible from a mobile phone. The mobile phone app allows retailers to have access to fuel pricing activities when away from the office, and offers the same functionality currently available when running the PriceIt! Pro system on a desktop or laptop PC, the company stated. The mobile phone application allows users to select a group of outlets for site-level data, including volume goal, price vs. competitor price and weighted average margin, according to the company. A data entry screen allows users to enter competitor price surveys while onsite, while the price optimization model can be run in batch mode for a group of outlets or for individual outlets, according to MPSI. In addition, a batch price implementation screen contains information for daily pricing decisions, including recommended price; price change vs. current price; price change vs. key competitor's price; weighted average margin in cents per gallon; and percent of volume goal. Pricing can also be sent directly from users' mobile phones.
