More Retailers Join Merchant Customer Exchange

IRVING, Texas -- Momentum around Merchant Customer Exchange (MCX) continues to build as more retailers join its effort to provide a widely accepted, customer-focused and secure mobile-commerce solution. The newest MCX partners are Pacific Convenience & Fuels LLC, Southwest Airlines and Brinker International Inc., parent company of Chili’s Grill & Bar and Maggiano’s Little Italy.

These three new members join other recently added companies such as RaceTrac Petroleum Inc., Dick's Sporting Goods, Hobby Lobby Stores Inc., Meijer Inc., QuikTrip Corp. and Wawa Inc., which were announced earlier this year. MCX currently has more than 30 merchants signed on as owner-members.

MCX merchants collectively operate 80,000 stores and process more than $1 trillion in payments annually. They include five of the top 10, and 20 of the top 90 merchants by revenue on the National Retail Federation’s Top 100 list. The companies are leaders in the big-box, convenience, drug, fuel, grocery, quick- and full-service dining, specialty retail and travel categories.

Initially, MCX’s mobile wallet will be primarily bar code- and cloud-based, offering consumers a personalized payment experience integrated with participating merchant offers, promotions, loyalty and location-based services. More information can be found at www.mcx.com.
