More Maverik Stores Coming to Nevada

NORTH SALT LAKE CITY, Utah -- Construction crews have started work on what will be Maverik Inc.’s first convenience stores in the Carson City and Reno areas of Nevada.

Crews are now working on the site of a new Maverik gas station and c-store at College Boulevard and Research Way in Carson City, slated to open in December. The North Salt Lake City-based convenience chain is also planning to open another location in Dayton, Nev., at Highway 50 and Riverboat Road, The Nevada Appeal reported.

"We are looking forward to being in this area," Jason Keith, a real estate representative for Maverik, told the newspaper. "We have an adventure/outdoor theme that we hope will go well with the market."

The Carson City location will be more than 4,600 square feet, making it one of the largest convenience store in the area, Keith said.

"We feel really confident about our offerings in the store," he added. "We have a lot of food that is prepared in the store."

He also noted Maverik will be competitive when it comes to gas prices, and the retailer also offers the Adventure Club Card, which gives customers discounts on fuel and bonus points they can use to earn gift cards.

"It's a little different than what is currently out there," Keith said. "We know there is a lot of competition, but we feel we are a tad different."

Maverik operates 200 locations in seven states.
