MillerCoors Opens Chicago Headquarters

CHICAGO -- MillerCoors, the U.S. joint venture created between SABMiller and Molson Coors Brewing Co., officially opened its corporate headquarters here Tuesday, the Denver Business Journal reported.

The company signed a 15-year lease agreement on 130,000 square feet of downtown Chicago office space, which will be home to roughly 325 of the company’s senior executives as well as its marketing, human resources, legal, finance, information technology and communications divisions, the report stated, citing a statement by the city of Chicago.

In other MillerCoors news, the brewer named Rick Gomez vice president of the Coors family of brands, effective July 13, according to a report in The Business Journal of Milwaukee.

Gomez will be responsible for overseeing the overall brand strategy and positioning for Coors Light and Coors Banquet. He comes to MillerCoors from Purchase, N.Y.-based PepsiCo Inc., where he served as vice president of marketing for waters, enhanced waters and juices, the report stated.

Gomez will be based at MillerCoors’ corporate headquarters in Chicago.
