Mette Munk, the original Danish pastry, is coming to America. The Denmark-made pastry is made of 24 layers of dough and trans-fat free margarine, and quickly bakes to a golden brown crispy surface and flaky texture, de Boer Food Importers reported. All preproofed Danish are packed in airtight pillow packs. Each assorted case comes with 24 of each of the five varieties -- apple, custard, raspberry crowns, cinnamon whirls and maple pecan slices -- all weighing 1.5 ounces each. A 6.2-ounce bag of maple syrup and a 6.2-ounce bag of icing are also included.
