McLane Honored
TEMPLE, Texas -- McLane Co. Inc., the Temple, Texas-based grocery and foodservice distributor, was awarded the OSH Award from the Texas Safety Association's Occupational Safety and Health Section at its Southwest Conference and Exposition in Austin, Texas.
Each year, the group presents awards to member companies whose on-the-job injury rates show significant reductions when compared to previous performance. Outstanding off-the-job safety programs are also recognized through Awards of Honor, Merit and Achievement.
An Award of Merit was presented to Merit Distribution Services Inc. -- a subsidiary of McLane Co. -- in recognition of outstanding service and accomplishments in accident prevention. Merit, also based in Temple, is a long-haul, over-the-road, non-fixed route carrier with a large fleet of refrigerated trucks.
"McLane Company places a high premium on safety, and we are honored to have been recognized again by the Texas Safety Association," said Jose Mireles, corporate safety manager for McLane, who accepted the awards.
