McDonald's Plans Adult Happy Meals

NEW YORK -- With the help of Oprah Winfrey's personal trainer, along with fitness guru Bob Greene, McDonald's will launch and promote an adult version of its Happy Meal. But instead of the usual toy, adults will get an exercise booklet and a pedometer to encourage walking, reported The Dallas Morning News.

The new healthy Happy Meal is being test-marketed at 150 McDonald's restaurants in Indiana. The meal includes a salad along with the exercise material, and Greene will consult with the company on new menu items, including a new taco version of its premium salads.

Two weeks ago, a federal judge in New York dismissed an obesity lawsuit against McDonald's that alleged the company had been hiding health risks of eating its popular Big Macs and Chicken McNuggets. It was the second time this year U.S. District Judge Robert threw out a class-action lawsuit blaming McDonald's for making people fat.
