McDonald's Introduces First-Ever McCafé Specialty Seasonal Drinks

OAK BROOK, Ill. -- McDonald's is ushering in the start of the holiday season by adding the first-ever specialty seasonal drinks to its McCafe menu.

Joining the beverage lineup are Peppermint Mocha and Peppermint Hot Chocolate. The drinks are in restaurants nationwide now and will be available through Jan. 2, 2012, or until supplies last. Both beverages are customizable, and available with a choice of whole or nonfat milk, and with or without the whipped cream topping.

"Beverages now represent more than 20 percent of sales for McDonald's USA, so it's becoming increasingly important to add new and unique beverage options to the McDonald's menu," said Marta Fearon, McCafé marketing director, McDonald's USA. "With the introduction of the decadent Peppermint Mocha and Peppermint Hot Chocolate, we are pleased to provide customers with a flavorful taste experience that is perfect for the holiday season."

To celebrate the launch of the McCafé Peppermint Mocha and Peppermint Hot Chocolate, McDonald's is popping up in select locations across the country to surprise customers with samples of the new holiday beverages. The McCafé Coffee Break Tour made its first stop yesterday in San Francisco, and will make future visits to Denver, (Nov. 11); Atlanta (Nov. 17); Chicago (Nov. 19); Boston (Nov. 23); and Washington, D.C. (Nov. 25).
