Maverik Expanding in Colorado

FRUITA, Colo. -- A new Maverik convenience store is being built at the corner of Highways 6 and 50 here. The store is set to open at the end of April, and will be the first of three new stores coming to the Grand Valley area this year.

According to a report by KJCT-TV, the other two stores will be built near Clifton's Peach Tree Shopping Center and 29-1/2 and F Roads in Grand Junction, Colo. Both are set to open late this summer. A Maverik store is already doing business in Cortez.

Maverik is a family owned company based in Salt Lake City, currently operating roughly 200 stores in seven western states. A company spokesman told KJCT-TV that the chain's stores offer competitive fuel prices, a full-service bakery and other features many other gas stations don't have. The retailer also tries to create a fun, adventurous atmosphere that is customer friendly, safe, clean and well lit, he said.
