Maverik Building New Store in Washington

PASCO, Wash. – Maverik is building a new gas station and convenience store in Pasco, Wash. – its second store in the state, according to a report in the Mid Columbia Tri City Herald.

"It's scheduled to open in about the middle of April," said John Aguilar, manager of a Maverik store in Sunnyside, the only other one in Washington in the report.

He said the Pasco store is one of several the Salt Lake City-based chain plans in Washington and Oregon, and last month, an administrative assistant in the company's real estate division, said the chain was planning a new store in Richland and looking for a site to build on in Kennewick.

Aguilar said, among other things, the chain is known for its in-store bakeries that produce baked goods sold separately, as well as in menu items. In particular, Bahama Mama, a Polish sausage in a bun, is a popular item that features a store-baked bun. The stores also have novel wallpaper that features outdoor scenes from the Southwest, the report stated.
