MAPCO Gets Creative for Fundraising

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. -- MAPCO Express Inc. representatives visited patients at Children's Hospital at Erlanger earlier this month, bringing gifts donated by MAPCO staff and customers, which included coloring books and crayons, bouncy balls, tie-dyed do rags, silly frogs and more, area television station WDEF reported.

MAPCO stations in Chattanooga, Tenn. and Chatsworth, Ga. sold items and held creative contests to raise money. Some contests included tossing a coin in a jug of water to hit a target, or an adopt-a-frog and frog toss event, the report stated.

"All we had to do was tell the customers what we were doing and they joined in," district manager Robert Canders said in the report. "So, the stores and customers are the ones to thank for their time, energy and generosity."
