Lucky Friday the 13th: Danny Crawford Wins Shell Gas for Life

READING, Mich. -- Danny Crawford, a resident here, was named one of six grand prize winners Friday of Shell's Million Gallon Giveaway. As a grand prize winner, Crawford will receive a lifetime supply of gasoline in the form of $300 Shell gift cards totaling more than $90,000.

Crawford routinely stops at a Shell station in Fremont, Ind. to buy gas. Recently he dropped in to buy gas and pricked up a game piece. "I've scratched off several game cards during the promotion and was in complete disbelief when the card revealed that I was a winner," he said. "I immediately shared the news with my brother and co-workers and began planning how to use my lifetime supply of gasoline."

Crawford is a self-employed farmer and masonry worker and plans to use the gas that he has run in his business and road trips in the future. "We are pleased to present Mr. Crawford with a prize that he can use to enjoy memorable trips with friends and family and reduce stress at work," said Karen Wildman, brand and communications manager for Shell.

Shell is currently reviewing other possible grand-prize winners in its Million Gallon Giveaway sweepstakes. Other winners must call the number located on the game piece no later than Oct. 31 to redeem their prize.

During its Million Gallon Giveaway campaign, Shell has supplied more than $2 million in prizes -- including six grand prizes of a lifetime of free gasoline -- at its gas stations. The campaign is part of a $30 million marketing campaign launched in June to show consumers that not all gasoline is the same.
