Love's Chooses NCR for Chainwide Refresh of POS Devices

OKLAHOMA CITY -- Love's Travel Stops & Country Stores has tapped NCR Corp. to install new point-of-sale (POS) software and technology in its more than 300 locations across 39 states.

The agreement comes as Love's decided to completely refresh all 1,800 of its POS devices to solid state technology with greater processing power and screen size, giving the chain an immediate ability to create a better customer experience across its footprint, according to a news release from Duluth, Ga.-based NCR.

"We have a long and successful relationship with NCR and they have really established themselves as a retail innovation leader and one-stop shop for software, hardware and services," said Jim Xenos, vice president of store technology at Oklahoma City-based Love's. "We believe modernizing our entire POS solution will make the mission of providing exceptional shopping experiences to our customers that much easier for our associates."

The NCR solution will include installation of the NCR RealPOS 72XRT, providing intelligent processing power to support new applications and functionality. Love's currently utilizes several software applications within the NCR Retalix software suite.

"We provide leading retailers like Love's Travel Stops & Country Stores with innovative solutions that make every day easier so that they can focus on delivering the best possible service to customers," said Eli Rosner, chief technology officer for NCR Retail. "This technology allows them to increase the speed of transactions and dramatically increase availability while reducing overall costs in their point-of-sale solution."

In other technology news, Love's selected ARC Vendor Link, a cloud-based retailer and supplier collaboration solution, to gain improved control over its procurement processes, including new product launches, cost and promotions data management and to support vendor onboarding, according to provider Manthan Systems.

ARC Vendor Link will help Love's provide improved visibility and process automation with form-based templates and a flexible workflow engine for supplier management, merchandising, marketing and supplier-related financial transactions.

"We selected ARC Vendor Link because of its wide array of strategic benefits and quick time-to-value," said Jay Dempsey, manager of merchandise technology and development at Love's. "Manthan has proven the business value of the ARC solution suite time and time again. This solution has become a strategic platform for all retail analytics at Love's, including supply chain and vendor analytics."
