Landmark Converting 27 Stations in D.C., Maryland to Valero Brand

SAN ANTONIO – Valero Energy Corp. announced today that its Valero brand will expand its presence in the Washington, D.C./Maryland area through an agreement with Landmark Petroleum Suppliers LLC, a Springfield, Va.-based fuel supplier.

Under the agreement, Landmark will convert 27 properties to the Valero brand, bringing these sites into Valero’s coast-to-coast network of more than 5,000 retail and wholesale branded outlets.

In addition to 11 sites in the Washington, D.C., metro area, Landmark will adopt the Valero brand at 13 locations in Maryland, including three in Hyattsville and two each in Landover Hills and Frederick. Six others stretch from Baltimore in the north to Fort Washington in the south. Northern Virginia is home to another three locations.

Capitol Petroleum Group is excited to join the Valero family,” said Joe Mamo, CEO of Capitol Petroleum and its affiliates, Landmark Petroleum Suppliers LLC and NOVA Petroleum Suppliers LLC. “We believe that Valero is a great strategic partner in the D.C. and New York markets.”

Founded in 1980, Texas-based Valero ranks No. 12 on the Fortune 500 list of America’s largest corporations, and has won numerous philanthropic and industry awards – most recently raising $9 million for children’s charities through its annual Valero Texas Open and Benefit for Children Golf Classic.

“Joe Mamo and Capital Petroleum Group is one of our industry’s leading wholesale fuel distributors,” said Glenn Zomack, Valero’s director of branded sales for the East Region. “With significant market share inside the Washington, D.C., Beltway and a growing presence within the New York boroughs of Manhattan, Queens and the Bronx, Landmark Petroleum Suppliers LLC, NOVA Petroleum Suppliers LLC and the Capitol Oil Group are an important part of Valero’s greater expansion along the East Coast and throughout the nation.”
