LA CROSSE, Wis. – Kwik Trip reached a major milestone by opening its 400th store in Chisago City, Minn., according to a WKBT report. The convenience store chain generally opens 12 to 15 new stores each year.
"Each and every store, of course, creates about 25 jobs at the retail level and that in turn leads to growth here since we are so vertically integrated," said Steve Wrobel, who works in corporate communications for La Crosse, Wis.-based Kwik Trip. "It provides opportunities in our production areas, our dairy, our bakery, our kitchens."
Kwik Trip, which was recently lauded for its efforts to make compressed natural gas available at multiple locations in Wisconsin, ranked No. 29 on Convenience Store News'' Top 100 Convenience Stores list this year.
