Kwik Trip Collects Coats for Kids

LA CROSSE, Wis. -- The Salvation Army's annual Costs for Kids program is underway here, and collection sites for the program are all area Kwik Trip stores, local television station WKBT reported.

The program is not restricted to children, and accepts coats for all people and ages, the report stated. Last year, the program distributed more than 2,300 coats and winter wear items for those in need, the report stated.

"We know it's important," Salvation Army development director Wendy Franke told the station. "We know we've already started to have a lot of people come through the building or call us that are asking for warm coats and different items like that because it's gotten colder outside."
