Kum & Go Remodels Two Colorado Stores

CRAIG, Colo. -- The Kum & Go store at 895 Yampa Ave. in Craig, Colo., closed its doors on Monday night to prepare for demolition, while a storefront next door is currently under construction, and six modern gas pumps, offering diesel fuel with roofs overhead, will replace the old building, according to the Craig, Colo.-based Craig Daily Press.

The new building will be approximately 3,000 square feet -- slightly larger than the old building -- and the biggest indoor changes will be the restrooms, according to the newspaper report. These will be expanded to include separate male and female restrooms as well as more stalls.
Employees will be moved to other area stores during construction, and the location is expected to reopen around Jan. 1, when a second Kum and Go location on Victory Way will close for construction as well, the report stated.

The only barrier to finishing construction is what the weather will do, Kum & Go representatives told the newspaper.

The West Victory location is also planned to be larger, with a total of eight pumps, and is tentatively planned to open in March 2008.
