    Kum & Go Picks Social Media Agency

    Chain looks to engage customers in new ways.

    DES MOINES, Iowa -- Catchfire Media, a West Des Moines-based social media consulting firm, was named Kum & Go L.C.'s social media agency of record. Catchfire Media will create and execute top-level social media strategies for the convenience store chain.

    "We are excited to partner with a great company like Kum & Go," said Jon Troen, Catchfire Media's managing partner. "Kum & Go has great brand loyalty and we look forward to taking that to a higher level as we concentrate on allowing them to communicate faster and more effectively with their customers than ever before through social media."

    Looking for meaningful ways to connect with customers, Kum & Go's stores have been outfitted with 'digital pump toppers,' which stream news and weather information to customers, and display a crawl feed of recent customer tweets.

    "We want to engage customers at their preferred point of engagement," said Lisa Lewis, Kum & Go's advertising and promotions manager. "We are seeing more customers prefer to engage with us on social media networks than ever before. Connecting with our customers on Facebook, Twitter and other networks allows us to directly communicate special offers and to receive immediate feedback from them."

    Catchfire Media will collaborate with Kum & Go's internal marketing and communications team to head up the social media component for large campaigns, such as their annual summer promotion, as well as everyday tasks, such as monitoring and advising on the company's overall social media presence.
