Kum & Go Names New Chief Operating Officer

WEST DES MOINES, Iowa -- Kum & Go LC has named Mark Hasting as the convenience store retailer's new chief operating officer (COO). He takes his seat on the senior management team effective immediately.

In his role at Kum & Go, Hasting will be responsible for providing executive leadership and management of store operations. He will also be leveraging strategic relationships on behalf of the company.

"Kum & Go is experiencing tremendous growth across the 11 different states in which we do business. I am excited to have Mark join our senior management team. His experience and wealth of knowledge in the retail industry will allow him to make an immediate impact at Kum & Go," said Kum & Go President and CEO Kyle J. Krause.

Hasting joins the company from Starbucks, where he served as regional vice president since 2010. Before the coffee company, Hasting served as vice president of store operations at Target Corp., where he oversaw the finances, processes and structure of 1,700 stores.

Hasting earned a master of business administration from Oklahoma City University and a bachelor's degree in marketing from Oklahoma State University. Hasting and his family will relocate to West Des Moines from Minneapolis. Hasting and his family will relocate to West Des Moines from Minneapolis. Hasting takes over the COO role from Dennis Folden, who in January 2012 announced his plans to retired in late summer, as CSNews Online previously reported. Folden served the company for more than 40 years, rising to COO in 2005.
