FLORHAM PARK, N.J. -- KSS Fuels released an update to its MPSI TrafficMetrix Current Year Estimates that provides up-to-date traffic forecasts for more than 790,000 locations.
The update represents a 5-percent increases compared to the earlier MPSI TrafficMetrix program. "Traffic count data is a critical factor in evaluating retail locations and must be up to date to ensure business decisions are based on accurate information," said Bob Stein, president and CEO of KSS Fuels. "This unique solution gives businesses an edge by providing more representative traffic count information than published data."
According to KSS, it's common for traffic count data to be at least one year old at the time it becomes available from the 6,000-plus organizations that collect it, and many counts do not get updated regularly by some collecting organizations.
KSS has attempted to counteract that problem by utilizing its proprietary scientific library to forecast daily traffic counts for the current year by using 10 separate predictive models.
