Krause Gentle Inks Deal with CashWorks

WEST DES MOINES, Iowa -- Krause Gentle Corp. has reached a deal with Dallas-based CashWorks Inc., a provider of automated payroll check cashing solutions, to install a payroll check-cashing system at all 340 of the company's Kum & Go convenience stores.

As part of the deal, Kum & Go convenience store customers who want to cash their payroll or government check will now be able to do so using the PayPort check-cashing platform from CashWorks. Instead of cash, customers will receive their funds on a CashWorks Platinum prepaid debit card that will give them the ability to convert all or a portion of those funds immediately to cash at an ATM in the store. Any balance can then be kept safely on the card.

Using the card, cardholders can access their funds at virtually every ATM around the world and can make purchases at more than 1 million retail locations that accept online debit cards for payment.

"The CashWorks check-cashing program is an important part of our strategy to boost store sales and fee income by providing new and valued services to our customers," said Chad Breheny, director of corporate development for Krause Gentle. "The CashWorks payroll-check-cashing program delivers a risk-free operating environment that is easy to implement and support.

"Our customers will benefit from the tremendous security and flexibility the CashWorks solution offers."
