The King Gets New French Fries

MIAMI -- Customers will be able to purchase a new French fry at Burger King restaurants on Monday.

The fast-food chain will replace its current fry with one intended to offer a "more fluffy, potato flavor on the inside and crispy golden-brown deliciousness on the outside," according to a company news release.

Burger King will heavily promote the new product on Friday, Dec. 16, when the quick-service restaurant chain presents "Free Fries Friday." Consumers who enter a Burger King restaurant on that day can receive a free value size order of fries, while supplies last. No additional purchase is necessary to take advantage of the promotion.

"With the launch of our new fries, the home of America's favorite burger now has the best fries in the business," said Leo Leon, vice president, global innovation, Burger King Corp. "At Burger King, we constantly strive to make every item on our menu the best it can be. We believe our new fries are the latest example of our commitment to quality and innovation, and we invite you to visit our restaurants and taste the difference."

Burger King operates roughly 12,400 locations in 79 countries and territories.
