CARY, N.C. – In a final push for its Salute Our Troops fundraising campaign, Kangaroo Express announced that Don O'Neal, a retired U.S. Army soldier, drag racer and tour headliner for the campaign, will end the summer with a racing spree. O’Neal will compete in National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) and Lucas Oil Racing events in the NHRA Super Comp 890 Index, part of the Lucas Oil Sportsman Division.
O'Neal recently raced at Beech Bend Raceway Park in Bowling Green, Ky., and will now compete in Indianapolis in the 59th annual Chevrolet Performance U.S. Nationals at the Lucas Oil Raceway beginning today through Sept. 2. Then, on Sept. 27, he will take his Salute Our Troops Dragster to the St. Louis Gateway Nationals, in the backyard of Anheuser-Busch, a major sponsor of Salute Our Troops.
O'Neal has been traveling this summer with the Salute Our Troops Tour to drive hometown support for U.S. troops throughout the Southeast by recognizing military personnel and rallying their supporters. The tour activates local communities to send special messages of praise and gratitude to the troops and their families, Kangaroo Express stated.
A full schedule of where O'Neal will be racing this year can be found at www.dononealracing.com.
