Kangaroo Express Plans Giveaway for National Donut Day

CARY, N.C. – Kangaroo Express will celebrate National Donut Day on June 7 by offering a free doughnut to every guest at its more than 300 bakery-ready convenience stores throughout the Southeast.

Customers can stop by any participating Kangaroo Express location between 7 a.m. and 9 a.m. on June 7 to receive a free doughnut. The giveaway is limited to one per customer, while supplies last.

National Donut Day celebrates The Salvation Army volunteers who provided writing supplies, clothing-mending and home-cooked meals, including doughnuts, for soldiers during World War I.

"With more than half of our stores located within 25 miles of a military installation, many of our guests have that same All-American helping spirit as the original Salvation Army volunteers during that first National Donut Day in 1938. That’s why National Donut Day is the perfect time to show our appreciation for our guests with great doughnut deals all week long," said Joe Venezia, senior vice president of operations, Kangaroo Express. "We hope our guests join The Roo to celebrate National Donut Day, grab a fresh cup of Bean Street Coffee and continue to choose Kangaroo Express for fresh, great-tasting breakfast options."

This year, the c-store chain, operated by The Pantry Inc., will offer several doughnut deals to entice customers in the week leading up to National Donut Day. Beginning June 3, customers can purchase six doughnuts for $4.49, two doughnuts for $1.79, and doughnut holes for 99 cents each.

Related specials will be offered next week such as a $2 breakfast combo, which will include the option of a 20-ounce Bean Street Coffee or orange juice paired with either a doughnut or a Jimmy Dean sausage on a biscuit.

Cary, N.C.-based Kangaroo Express operates more than 1,560 c-stores in the Southeast.
