Kangaroo Express Hops Forward With New Mobile App

BROOKLYN PARK, Minn. -- Kangaroo Express is partnering with OpenStore by GasBuddy, a multi-channel digital marketing solution for convenience store chains, to launch a new website and branded mobile app during the second quarter of 2013. Kangaroo Express is the primary operating banner of Cary, N.C.-based The Pantry Inc., and has more than 1,550 stores in the southeastern United States.

The new website will be fully integrated with the app in order to create a complete experience for Kangaroo Express customers, and will allow users to access store locations, exclusive "RooClub" promotions, a trip planner and more, according to the announcement.

"Providing great value is just about as simple as you can make it," stated Jason Toews, co-founder and CEO of OpenStore by GasBuddy. "And customers love the convenience of using apps and being rewarded for their loyalty as a customer. OpenStore is delighted to have Kangaroo Express launch with the award winning product suite, and we are proud to be part of their continued success in serving their customers."

The app will also let customers send feedback, review job postings and retrieve updated gas prices.

"Just in time for the summer travel season, Kangaroo Express' new mobile app will provide our guests with an interactive and convenient way to unlock savings, engage with our brand and 'Get Right at the Roo,'" added Alec Bleday, digital marketing manager at Kangaroo Express. "We are partnering with OpenStore by GasBuddy to drive in-store sales, engage our core customers and deliver a differentiated digital experience for our brand."

OpenStore/GasBuddy LLC was recently acquired by Oil Price Information Service (OPIS), as CSNews Online previously reported.
