TOKYO, Japan -- Circle K convenience stores in Japan have created a new store model aiming at women shoppers. The models, which will be set up in metropolitan areas in Japan, will open in August, according to Circle K Sunkus Co. president, Kiyoshi Hijikata.
In an effort to obtain a new set of customers, Circle K has developed the models with a clear target group.
Another target group that Circle K wants to target in Japan are the elderly. Within this year, the company plans to open stores in residential areas that will target this group of customers.
Circle K Sunkus is the fourth-largest c-store chain in Japan and operates approximately 6,300 stores there.
