ALBION, Mich. – Kelly Fuels’ new prototype took its inspiration from the owner’s affinity for retro trains to develop a whole new “Express” brand and theme. The train motif is used in multiple ways, including in the store logo, the use of faux train wheels in the canopy, and “destinations” such as the Beverage Depot, Cooling Station and Beer Stop. Signage was designed to resemble retro travel posters, and the bright, energetic color palette is paired with dynamic wall stencils to create a “kinetic” backdrop to the store’s interior. The train and travel theme permeates the customer’s every touchpoint throughout the store.
