Shell Extends Credit Card Agreement With Citi

ATLANTA -- Banking giant Citigroup Inc.'s U.S. credit card agreement with Shell Oil Products U.S. will continue for years to come, as Citi has inked a multi-year extension to offer Shell-branded credit card products.

Citi and Shell have teamed up since 1999. Shell has 14,000 branded gas stations throughout the United States. Most recently, Citi and Shell partnered to launch the "Drive for Five" card, offering everyday gasoline rewards across all grades of fuel.

"We are thrilled to renew our relationship with Shell, a long-standing client for more than a decade," said Craig Vallorano, executive vice president, partnership management, Citi Retail Partner Cards. "At Citi, we are committed to providing dynamic credit programs to market leaders, like Shell, which has a strong brand and an exceptional marketing network that has supported and executed promotion of the Shell-branded card programs at a best-in-class level for years."

Rick Altizer, general manager of North American retail marketing for Shell, added that the oil company is committed to providing its consumers with a wide range of payment options. "Working with Citi to provide friendly payment options like the Shell 'Drive for Five Card,' which can help consumers reduce the price they pay at the pump without sacrificing quality, is a win-win for everybody," he said.
