Quik Mart Flips Switch on LED Lighting Retrofit

Upgrade expected to save Arizona c-store retailer $200K per year.

TUCSON, Ariz. — Quik Mart Stores flipped the switch on an upgrade from a fluorescent and HID interior/exterior lighting to solid-state LED lighting at 25 locations in the Tuscon area.

SCS Energy Solutions Corp.’s SCS Lighting Division completed the LED upgrade, as well as developing a solution to beverage and freezer cooler lighting and enhancing existing merchandise displays.

"The capital improvements SCS completed in a short amount of time have not only increased the overall look of the stores, but have allowed us the capital flexibility to improve other aspects of our business,” said Troy Little, CEO of Quik Mart.

According to SCS, the LED upgrade will provide a more environmentally friendly solution and lighting that will provide additional eye appeal to customers. But above all, the LED retrofit will also save Quik Mart money. The convenience store chain will save $200,000 per year, totaling a reduction of 77 percent in lighting costs for Quik Mart, stated SCS.

SCS Energy Solutions, Inc. is an energy solutions and services company specializing in the design, fabrication and implementation of large-scale energy solutions.

Tucson-based Quik Mart Stores operates 33 convenience stores in Arizona, with another two locations set to open soon.
