Phillips 66 Approves NCR's Radiant POS Technology

DULUTH, Ga. -- NCR Corp. has been approved to process credit, debit and fleet card transactions at Conoco, Phillips 66 and 76 branded gas stations and convenience stores throughout the U.S., the company announced. Approval means store owners can purchase NCR's Radiant point-of-sale (POS) solution, which was approved for the brands' previous network in 2005.

"Petroleum convenience store owners need reliable systems that affordably meet their unique point-of-sale needs, and customers want to interact with these stores as quickly and easily as possible," said Jason Groff, director, petroleum convenience retail with NCR. "With our new approval for Conoco, Phillips 66 and 76 branded locations, these store owners now have available new and powerful solutions from NCR that incorporate our company's embrace of the latest in technology. When these owners get ready to upgrade their POS equipment -- those owners who currently use our solutions and those who we would like to serve going forward -- NCR stands ready to meet their needs."

Proprietary credit networks of petroleum marketers such as Conoco-, Phillips 66- and 76-branded locations are not open to all POS vendors; approval is required before POS systems can be sold to gasoline and c-store operators that sell their branded fuel.

The NCR Radiant POS solution offers scalability, efficiency, reliability and affordability, the company said. Currently, its customers include three of the six major oil companies in the United States and 12 of the country's top 30 c-store chains, and more than 25 billion gallons of fuel are sold annually through its POS systems, according to NCR.

"This approval is just one of many investments that reaffirm NCR's dedication to innovation in the petroleum and convenience store market," Groff continued. "We're thrilled to achieve this approval and look forward to continued success in this space."
