Phillips 66 Approves Deployment of Pinnacle Interface

ARLINGTON, Texas -- Phillips 66 has approved The Pinnacle Corp.'s Palm POS interface for deployment at its Conoco, Phillips 66 and 76 branded locations.

As a replacement to the legacy CPNI5 payment host, the NTS host provides increased data security measures for payment transactions and will enable Conoco, Phillips 66 and 76 branded marketers to take advantage of additional features and benefits that will improve their bottom line, according to a Pinnacle release.

As part of the overall effort, Pinnacle's Phillips 66 NTS interface has passed the PA-DSS v2.0 guidelines as defined by the PCI Security Standards Council (PCI SSC). Pinnacle's Palm POS with the NTS interface has been approved for installation at Conoco-, Phillips 66- and 76-branded retail sites supported by the NTS payment network.

"We are excited to have completed the migration from the legacy CPNI5 network to NTS," said Denise Lewis, retail solutions manager at The Pinnacle Corp. "Completion of this project enables Pinnacle to continually add incremental value to our current and prospective Palm POS clients that are looking for a POS platform supporting the latest market features and programs, in combination with the brand flags they fly."

In related news, Pinnacle this week also announced the completion and availability of an interface between its EPM (Enterprise Performance Management) business intelligence platform and Gilbarco's Passport POS.

In use by the majority of Pinnacle Palm POS clients as early as 2005, Pinnacle's EPM business intelligence (BI) platform provides retailers with a real-time, browser-based, centralized-database, enterprise-level reporting solution for merchandise, operations and loss prevention reporting. EPM offers an array of reporting options and delivery mechanisms to satisfy all user types, whether store managers or executive leadership, the company said.

Pinnacle completed the development of the interface between EPM and Gilbarco's Passport POS via the PCATS NAXML standards, expanding the scope of retailers that can now take advantage of Pinnacle's BI solution.

"We are pleased with this completed work, as it significantly expands the group of potential marketers that can take advantage of EPM," said Jane Sinn Gabriel, retail solutions manager at The Pinnacle Corp. "Newer EPM clients are amazed with the flexibility of reporting options EPM provides, and clients that have been on the platform for some time continue to reap new benefits as they harvest its undiscovered horsepower."

The technology supplier also recently completed the EPM interface to VeriFone's Sapphire POS, which is now in production; Pinnacle said it will continue to add support for additional point-of-sale platforms.
