PDI Users Conference Focuses on Education

FORT WORTH, Texas -- Approximately 500 convenience store retailers and petroleum marketers from throughout the country focused on education and networking at PDI's annual Users Conference and Training Seminar (UC).

The event, which took place from Sept. 9-12, offered 10 educational tracks and nearly 80 classes, the most in its more than 20-year history. Also featured were expert panels about hot industry topics, such as item inventory and scan-based trading.

"Based on the feedback we're receiving, the conference was very successful," said Paula Conti, PDI's vice president of training and customer service. "The level of interactive training and customer collaboration was unprecedented, and I'm pleased with the results. Our goal is to get better every year."

This year's UC in Fort Worth, Texas, also saw a revival of PDI's executive track. The course was designed C-level management with a strategic look at PDI, automation trends and other industry topics. Several technology leaders offered presentations, including Janet Kennedy, vice president of the central region enterprise and partner group for Microsoft Corp.
