Huck’s Upgrades Its Network With Acumera Solution

CARMI, Ill. — Huck’s Convenience Stores implemented Acumera Inc.’s C-Store Connections package, a network management and security services package, at each of its 115 Midwest locations.

The Carmi-based c-store chain implemented the Acumera solution because it needed a more comprehensive solution to support payment card industry (PCI) compliance, improve network reliability and increase operational visibility.

“As a level-one retailer, we need a strong managed security solution that supports the PCI compliance process, but also provides up-to-the-minute visibility into our store operations,” said Paul Black, vice president of IT at Huck's. “Acumera’s C-Store Connections package delivers both, which means we can be more proactive in serving our customers by identifying and fixing connectivity issues before they impact business.”

Acumera’s C-Store Connections package includes its Merchant Gateway managed firewall, the AccuVigil dashboard for remote network monitoring and management, and Apps for Your Network services, a secure method for managing operations.

“Convenience store [information technology] leaders are under constant pressure to stay on top of the dynamic cybersecurity landscape, meet evolving industry standards and keep stores running around the clock, all while improving efficiency,” said Tom Yemington, Acumera’s vice president of sales and marketing. “Our solutions offer support, expertise, technology and control to help forward-thinking retailers like Huck’s manage today’s challenges and capitalize on opportunities in the future.”

Huck’s Convenience Stores, owned by Martin & Bayley Inc., is an employee-owned chain of 115 locations in Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky and Tennessee.

Austin, Texas-based Acumera Inc. provides network management services, tools, applications and more to convenience stores, gas stations and petroleum wholesalers.
