Hub City C-stores Selects Fuel Management System

HOUSTON -- Hub City Convenience Stores Inc., a division of Kendrick Oil Co., selected FuelQuest Inc.'s Fuel Management System (FMS) solution and services.

"The Hub City management team is excited to implement FuelQuest's fuel automation software within our fuel operations," Matthew Kendrick, Hub City vice president of marketing, said in a release. "By better managing our fuel, we can improve our margins and better serve our customers. Automation will create a more even playing field with the larger dealer chains with whom we compete."

Established in 2008, Hub City operates 22 convenience stores under the ConocoPhillips, Valero and ALON/FINA brands in Texas and New Mexico. The company will use FMS to automate their fuel inventory and invoice reconciliation processes improving operational efficiencies and increasing fuel margins.

FMS will streamline Hub City Convenience Stores' fuel operations by providing just-in-time inventory management to prevent run-outs and retains accurate supplier invoice reconciliation accounting for price, freight and tax, and enhanced compliance accuracy and efficiency, mitigating risk, according to the company.

"Hub City Convenience Stores is another great example of how regional retail store business leaders are implementing fuel management automation to strengthen their market positioning," Scott Cilento, senior vice president of operations for FuelQuest, said in a release.
