Go-Mart Connects With Acumera for Network Security

GASSAWAY, W. Va. -- Go-Mart selected Acumera Inc. to provide network security, connectivity and visibility for its 100-plus convenience stores in West Virginia, Virginia and Ohio.

In addition to beefed-up network security, Acumera's C-Store Connections package will reduce costs associated with managing and maintaining Go-Mart's network, according to the Austin, Texas-based technology provider. Acumera will also provide Go-Mart with broadband carrier management services, managed virtual private networks (VPNs), network operations center support and remote system visibility via the AcuVigil dashboard.

"One of the factors that attracted us to Acumera is the breadth and depth of the team’s PCI (payment card industry) knowledge, and its willingness to guide us through the complex process of building and maintaining a PCI-compliant network," said Paul Gaughan, Go-Mart's general manager. "By specializing in network security for the convenience store space, Acumera has been able to jump right in, understand our network design and address security requirements throughout all of our stores quickly, efficiently and cost effectively."

Go-Mart is facing increased pressure to improve network security and design, streamline operations, enhance visibility into store systems and reduce downtime, all while managing limited information technology resources, added Dirk Heinen, CEO of Acumera.

Gassaway, W. Va.-based Go-Mart traces its roots back to 1914, when brothers Fred, Charles and Rod Heater, operating as the Heater Oil Co., began selling axle grease, kerosene and other petroleum products to farms and businesses in central West Virginia.
