Tedeschi, Delta Sonic Roll Out New POS Hardware

ROCKLAND, Mass. -- Tedeschi Food Shops, based here, and Delta Sonic Car Wash of Buffalo, N.Y., are rolling out new point-of-sale hardware from UTC Retail in more than 200 locations collectively.

Tedeschi Food Shops opted to switch from their current hardware platform to UTC's 1870 Series POS Hardware platform, according to statement by Pinnacle Corp., the retailers' technology supplier based in Arlington, Texas.

"We at Tedeschi wanted to move forward with a state-of-the-art piece of POS hardware that was designed to withstand the day-to-day usage common in the convenience store environment," said Jack McLaughlin, director of information services for the c-store chain.

After careful review of various options, Tedeschi concluded that switching from a 'POS in the box' option made sense, he said. The retailer saw great value in the benefits and cost savings associated with an integrated, built-to-suit system that could grow with the business.

Delta Sonic Car Wash, which installed UTC's Retail POS Hardware at their locations, looked at the reliability of the platform and the level of customer support they would receive from the tech staff at UTC.

"We needed a stable, reliable, and robust platform to run our point-of-sale system. We like the fact that the UTC Retail repair facility is right around the corner from our offices, and we appreciate UTC's flexibility in helping us get a system deployed that meets our needs," said Chris Boebel, IT manager for Delta Sonic Car Wash. "Whenever we have needed technical support, we have received it from a happy, knowledgeable tech. We have had nothing but good experiences with UTC Retail, and we look forward to continuing our partnership."
